I have been a Girl Scout since Kindergarten. My participation in Girl Scouts has helped me to develop my character and discover my identity. In 2019, I accompanied my father in New York City for the 104th remembrance of the Armenian Genocide. We gathered in Times Square along with many other Armenians who had come from around the world to remember their ancestors.
In 2022, my dad spoke in Times Square. I was filled with emotions - from pride to sorrow - that sparked me to do something that would benefit the Armenian community and spread awareness about Armenia.
I am beyond thrilled that the Girl Scouts have given me the opportunity through my Gold Award to help others understand Armenians and learn about Armenia.
This picture was taken in spring of 2022 when I attended the Women of Achievement event as a Girl Scout Media Girl, and I was able to interview Ms. Pia House Walker, a true inspiration to me.
Girl Scouts has given me so many opportunities to better my community, develop valuable character traits, hone my skills, and make memorable experiences with people whom I will never forget.
Thanks to this project, I encourage other Girl Scouts to embrace who you are because it makes you unique. Being different is having your own special characteristics that shape your beautiful persona, and you should be proud! After learning about Armenian culture and hearing Armenian voices first-hand, I encourage you to share your voice with your community, and...
do not be afraid to be heard!
