As a Girl Scout since Kindergarten who comes from Armenian descent, I chose to use my Gold Award project to spread awareness and inform people about the alarming yet important history of Armenia as well as its culture, which has migrated with Armenians to the United States and around the world.
Armenia is part of the Middle East region in Asia. As seen in the picture on the right, it is located to the North of Iran, to the East of Turkey, to the South of Georgia and to the West of Azerbaijan and the region of Nagorno Karabakh, also known as the Republic of Artsakh.
Diran Bohajian is an Armenian priest who emphasizes the importance of Christianity in Armenian culture. Armenia was the first nation to affirm Christianity, and every Armenian continues to abide by God each and every day. Diran shares the religious values of Armenians and highlights hypothetical prevention of other genocides if people were aware of the Armenian Genocide many years ago.
